I enjoy this stage of a painting. The layers of paint on the subject beginning to render full colour. After some of the hard work building the background I now need to get the main tonal layer painted on the giraffe to better gauge where they sit in the space of the image. There will be some fine balancing of tones and colour to optimise the illusion. Nonetheless I look forward to rendering the beauty of the early morning golden light and the graceful movement of a group of giraffe in the African low veld. I hope you are enjoying this with me.
