This painting is still progressing well in the studio. This week I get to block in the giraffe with basic colour, the excitement builds. Now the painting starts to flow with more tonal information to balance the detail in the background. I love it when a painting starts to jump out of the canvas at you. The thrill of manipulating the illusion in paint to become convincingly real always fascinates me. The enjoyment of reliving the beautiful early morning moment of grace and elegance. The giraffe are now holding their own in the space of the painting. Now for the detail along with refining the light in the painting.
