Studio Update

This weeks studio update. Slowly now but surely, all of that gorgeous detail that we see in nature .

The colours of ultramarine blue and cobalt teal in the kingfisher along with naples yellow and cadmium yellows. The subject contrasting with the various iron oxides and the entanglement of branches with touches of subtle viridian in the lichen. I always strive to showcase this beauty that I see through my own eyes, when we pause for a moment and take notice of the natural world. In this case it really is beautiful. This painting being a metaphor for the moment we leave home when we face the entangled world full of decisions and choices, when we look to the natural world and see how beautifully rendered the subject of survival can be. Enjoy.
