This piece is not my usual subject, orchids an interesting change for a commissioned piece. Keeping busy as usual. I hope wherever you are in the world that you are keeping safe and well. The next project is going to be a painting.

Some more progress on this orchid vessel. The foliage reminds me of all the work I put into the gorilla piece I did a while back. There are no shortcuts or quick methods to carving leaves I have decided. At least not if you want them to look reasonable. Quite a slow exacting process, I hope they will turn out beautifully. In this picture there are various stages of roughing out the carved areas and some finishing work has started. I hope you all enjoy.
