Golden Glower

I hope you enjoy the official image, my best wishes to you all.

The warm evening light, soothing, comforting, lulling us into a false sense of security. Suddenly the stealth, the surprise, the mesmerising beauty, unnerving and unexpected the vision of a spotted big cat. Wearing that oh so leopard like stare, he didn’t really want to be discovered. The sense that something is not quite what it seems, it takes a moment to piece the perilous scene together. The look from the leopard, electrically tingling your nerves, raising the hairs on the back of your neck, instinctively you just know what that look means. Previously unnoticed you now see the cryptically hidden interest in the tall golden grass. The close proximity of cat and bird makes you feel uneasy. In the wilds of Africa, the dance between life and death, predator and prey. Perhaps this beautiful paradox questions our lives too. Nonetheless that evening light adds to the Golden Glower of the opportunistic leopard. We are left torn between the beauty and reality of the moment. An experience to live in our memory forever, to remind us of the precious beauty of the wilds. To marvel at survival and life itself.
